Green County Humane Society

The Green County Humane Society (GCHS) is comprised of members, dedicated shelter staff, volunteers, a Board of Directors, and a growing network of foster homes. Due to the commitment of these people, the GCHS has gone from a 62% kill rate in 1999 to a No Kill status. Our mission includes:

• Promoting compassionate and appropriate treatment of animals throughout Green and Lafayette Counties.

• Realizing the need to educate the general public in areas of animal care, especially the need for spaying and neutering of animals to prevent further overpopulation.

• Diligently assisting law enforcement and the general public in the effort to end animal abuse.

• Devoted to the search for quality homes for every adoptable animal that comes into the shelter.

• GCHS is dedicated to expanding the knowledge of and protection of animals we share our lives and the world with.
